How Much Does it Cost?

There are NO outstanding bugs or issues reported for MyToGo for Skype, but this release is still a beta release. Version 3.8 fixes a problem with XP and Vista systems that use IPv6 vs IPv4 where older versions of MyToGo for Skype did not sense DTMF ("Touch Tones") on those system using IPv6, version 3.8 now works with both IPv4 and IPv6. The Symptom of this was that MyToGo answered the calls, but there was no log of DTMF digits received, which is the norm.

MyToGo for Skype has a Link to all the services you can use or will need for MyToGo for Skype located on the MyToGo window, so that you can get more detail about any of these Skype services, as well as extend or purchase any of them at anytime by simply clicking the links from the MyToGo for Skype window.

Ok, there are some basic rules and concepts that you must understand first.

What do you want to use MyToGo for Skype for? To simply have a family member using Skype be able to call your Skype name and then enter a telephone number or Skype Speed-Dial number to call your cell phone?

If this is the case, you will NOT need SkypeIn.

However, if you want to use ANY of your other phones to be able to call Skype contacts by their Skype names for FREE using your other phones, or you wish to check your Skype Voice Mail using your other phones for FREE, or so that you can save money by using your other phones, including your cell phone for example to use Skype calling rates to call both local and international telephone numbers, you will then need SkypeIn.

If you don't have a SkypeIn number and Skype Pro you would only be able to authorize other Skype named contacts to call other Skype named contacts or to check your Skype Voice Mail while being logged in as another Skype Name, you would not be able to however, use Skype calling services remotely from your other phones without having SkypeIn.

You will also need SkypeOut Credits. When calling Skype Speed-Dial numbers that call SkypeOut telephone numbers, or enter telephone numbers to be dialed using Skype rates from your other phones.

This includes even those who maybe located in the U.S. or Canada and may have the Unlimited Call Plan, you still need Skype Pro for this as well as SkypeIn as well as SkypeOut Credits.

HOW DOES MyToGo for Skype WORK?

There are three special Skype Speed-Dial numbers that are used to determine who your Authorized callers will be when using MyToGo for Skype.

These Skype Speed-Dial numbers are 96, 97 and 98 are used to determine authorized callers into MyToGo for Skype and can be allowed to call other Skype Speed-Dial numbers as well as call telephone numbers and Check your Skype Voice Mail using MyToGo for Skype, if you allow.

Before entering any DTMF number from your phones, wait for the tone from MyToGo for Skype to let you know it is ready to accept your telephone number or Skype Speed-Dial numbers.

If you allow 96, 97 or 98 Skype Speed-Dial numbers which are also your MyToGo for Skype Authorized users, to check for Skype Voice Mail, which is done by checking or not checking the allow Skype Voice Mail retrieval box for any of the above Skype Speed-Dial numbers, then by default any Voice Mail which is new and has not been actually played from your Skype client on your computer by a human being, that MyToGo for Skype is running on, will always be played each and every time that 96, 97 or 98 calls MyToGo for Skype, and before 96, 97 or 98 can enter Skype Speed-Dial numbers or telephone numbers.

To change this, 96, 97 or 98 can call your SkypeIn number or your Skype Name, and enter the # key, after Skype Voice mails are played, or when MyToGo for Skype answers. Is should be noted, that if this is done, that Skype Voice mail played to any of your authorized users will not replay the same Skype Voice mail to any your other authorized MyToGo for Skype users. You can however toggle back the replay option at anytime, by having any of your authorized users 96, 97 or 98 enter # again, after Skype Voice Mails are played or when MyToGo for Skype answers and there are not any Skype Voice Mails to play.

The # key does end the call in both of the above cases, so if you need to still call a Skype Speed-Dial to call a Skype name for FREE, or wish to call a telephone number using Skypes low rates, you will need to call back your SkypeIn number or Skype name where MyToGo for Skype is running.

Any Skype Voice mail played by MyToGo for Skype will still reside on the computer that MyToGo for Skype is running on, until you delete it.

Please also remember that even if you did not have Skype Voice Mail, other Skype users that do can still leave you Skype Voice Mail. So it is possible to have received Skype Voice Mail from other Skype users, even when you have not purchased it.

How to Use MyToGo For Skype Example:

Note: Please remember that while testing or using these examples with MyToGo for Skype, and using your phone near your computer speakers, to please turn down your speaker volume on your computer when dialing into MyToGo for Skype from your phone, otherwise, MyToGo for Skype may hear the touch tone digits you are entering on your phone while you are testing MyToGo for Skype and from your speakers as well, which would not be the case normally.

You do not need to add all three of these special Skype Speed-Dial numbers if you only want to use one for example use one, it can be any of the three, but it must be one of 96, 97, or 98.

Add a contact to your Skype Contacts for your Cell Phone number, and also right click on it and assign Skype Speed-Dial 96 to it.

FYI, To add a Skype Speed-Dial number, right click on the contact you wish the Skype Speed-Dial number to be assigned, and choose Set Speed-Dial enter a Skype Speed-Dial number ("From 0 to 99, can be 00-99 as well") and Click OK, and the Skype Speed-Dial number is added. You will now see the Skype Speed-Dial number on the right side of your contact so you know it is there and assigned.

Add a contact to your Skype Contacts for your Home Phone number, and also right click on it and assign Skype Speed-Dial 97 to it.

Add a contact to your Skype Contacts for your Office Phone number, and also right click on it and assign Skype Speed-Dial 98 to it.

Now, when you call your SkypeIn number from your cell, home or office number, MyToGo for Skype will automatically answer the call, but just for these special Skype Speed-Dial numbers 96, 97 and 98. All other callers to your SkypeIn number or calling your Skype name would take the normal route they would otherwise.

Now, when any of these phones call your SkypeIn number they will be authorized to call any other Skype Speed-Dial numbers you set up.

Example:

You create a contact for your parents number and then assign Skype Speed-Dial number 3 to your parents Phone Contact ("By the way you can use both 3 or 03 as well"). You then add your cell phone number to your contacts and right click on it and assign Skype Speed-Dial 97 to it, so that when your cell phone calls your SkypeIn number it will be authorized to call other Skype Speed-Dial numbers you assign.

Now, when you call your SkypeIn number ("While your computer is running Skype at home") for example, using your cell phone, Your SkypeIn number will answer, simply enter 3# and skype will transfer your call to your parents number.

It gets WAY Better!

Lets say you have a friend on Skype called Neil, and Neil has decided to have his Cell, Home and Office phone numbers in his Skype profile, and you decided to right Click on Neil's Skype name in your contact list and assign Skype Speed-Dial 04 to Neil.

Now, when you call your SkypeIn number using your cell phone, you have 4 choices on how to contact Neil.

04# Will call Neil using his Skype name, and for FREE, so your cell phone will be doing this:

Cell -> SkypeIn -> Skype -> Neil on Skype

04*1# Will call Neil's Cell Phone number from his Skype profile if it is there, otherwise it will call Neil using a Skype call.

Cell -> SkypeIn -> Skype Profile for Neil -> Neil Cell Phone

04*2# Will call Neil's Home Phone number from his Skype profile if it is there, otherwise it will call Neil using a Skype call.

Cell -> SkypeIn -> Skype Profile for Neil -> Neil Home Phone

04*3# Will call Neil's Office Phone number from his Skype profile if it is there, otherwise it will call Neil using a Skype call.

Cell -> SkypeIn -> Skype Profile for Neil -> Neil Office Phone

It's easy to remember just do it in alpha order, cell = 1, home = 2, office = 3

So not only can MyToGo call Skype names for FREE from other phones, it can call Skype names 4 different ways if they have their three phone numbers in their profiles as well.

Badly formatted entries when entered or invalid Skype Speed-Dial numbers ("Ones that have not been assigned") will automatically end the call, so that there is no time wasted on invalid entered numbers.

Skype Speed-Dial numbers 96, 97 and 98 can also be assigned to Skype names as well as your cell, home or office phones. But there is a limit of THREE phone numbers or Skype names to assign for this Beta version release.

Why would you do this, well here is one Example. Lets say you assign Skype Speed-Dial 96 to your Cell Phone and Skype 97 to your Office Phone but also have a son or daughter who is in college, they have access to the Internet, but always are short on money. You could assign their Skype name to Skype Speed-Dial 98, in this case, so that they can call you Skype to Skype and when you are not home, they can enter your Cell Phone Speed-Dial number, or your Office Speed-Dial number to contact you when you are away from your computer, without needing to spend money to call you from a pay phone.

There are 10 Skype Speed-Dial numbers that will not work with MyToGo for Skype:

They are 00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99

Notice they are Skype Speed-Dial numbers that have the same digits, Example "22".

To avoid false DTMF recognition and dialing as much as possible when using inband DTMF over compressed VoIP calls on Skype, it was decided to avoid duplicate digit Skype Speed-Dial numbers for the initial beta release.

You can however assign these Skype Speed-Dial numbers and they can be used locally on your system by your Skype program, they just won't be used or recognized by MyToGo for Skype , which could be good if you wanted to isolate some Skype Speed-Dial numbers from MyToGo for Skype that can't be used remotely.

But....this still leaves you with 100 Skype Speed-Dial numbers to use ("0-9 & 00-99 minus the duplicate digit Skype Speed-Dial numbers") to call Skype names and other phone numbers from other phones using Skype. This is not even counting the additional numbers you can call if your contacts have their cell, home and office phone numbers in their profile. So you could be able to call as many as 400 phone numbers and Skype names depending on your contacts profiles.

FYI, Skype Speed-Dial numbers are just as easy to remove as they are to add. To remove a Skype Speed-Dial number, right click on the contact assigned the Skype Speed-Dial number you wish to remove, and choose Set Speed-Dial then clear the Skype Speed-Dial number and Click OK, and the Skype Speed-Dial number is now removed.

You can also call numbers directly, Skype Speed-Dial numbers 96, 97, and 98 now have a check box which you can check to allow that authorized user to dial phone numbers as well as Skype Speed-Dial numbers.

Telephone numbers are entered in the same format that you would enter the telephone on Skype including the country code minus two special differences.

a. You MUST always precede a telephone number with a * so that MyToGo for Skype can distinguish between a telephone number being entered and a Skype Speed-Dial number. As with the Skype Speed-Dial number entry using MyToGo for Skype you must end the telephone number with #

b. When/If your telephone number has duplicate DTMF digits you must use a * to represent that digit.

Again, due to the potential problems with using DTMF inband with high compression codecs as is the case with Skype calls from PSTN phones and false DTMF recognition and dialing, there are special rules for telephone numbers that have duplicate DTMF digits. you MUST use an * for a duplicate digit in a telephone number, otherwise your number will NOT be dialed correctly. Here are some examples:

MyToGo for Skype currently does NOT support leaving Skype voice mail to Skype names when they are called and are offline. When you call a Skype Name using a Skype Speed-Dial number via MyToGo for Skype it will ring and then the call will be ended from MyToGo for Skype when that Skype name is not online. It may seem like the call was answered, but it was ended, just say hello, and you will not hear a response, this is how you will know that the Skype name you called is not online.

If you cannot reach a Skype contact by their Skype name , if that Skype Contact has their Cell, Home or Office numbers in their profile, you can call those other numbers when you cannot reach them using their Skype name by calling MyToGo for Skype again and then using the * feature combined with the Skype Speed-Dial number to reach them using their other phone numbers published in their profile.

What If my Wife is at home and my cell phone is an Authorized MyToGo for Skype user, and I am trying to get my wife to answer my Skype call at home from the computer MyToGo for Skype is running on, won't MyToGo for Skype answer my call before she can hear it ringing?

There is a solution for this, simply add a Skype Speed-Dial number for your own SkypeIn number, when you want to ring your computer at home so that your wife, for example, can answer the call, simply call the Skype Speed-Dial number assigned to your SkypeIn number and this will allow her to hear your call ringing and to answer your call. The send unanswered calls to voice mail check box cannot be checked in the Skype options, calls, voice mail settings, for this to work when your Skype client is running.

Please make sure when you are calling into MyToGo for Skype that it is not from a noisy area, if it is very noisy where you are calling from when using MyToGo for Skype , try covering the phones mouthpiece when or if MyToGo for Skype is having any problems recognizing the DTMF digits you are entering on your phone.

MyToGo for Skype displays a complete history of times that Authorized users called, and what Skype Speed-Dial numbers, Skype names or telephone numbers were called as well as if MyToGo for Skype authorized users attempted to dial telephone numbers when they were not authorized and they were denied, as well as invalid Skype Speed-Dial numbers that were attempted. The information history in the MyToGo for Skype log window can be saved at anytime by simply right clicking on the log window, then choose Select All, the choose Copy, and then paste to into a document window or email to save or send or print your current Skype Speed-Dial numbers in number order to carry in your wallet or purse.

Many changes are planned, additional languages, a much more friendly user interface which includes accessability for disabled Skype users as well, and many more features that were not able to be included in release one due to time constraints.

The initial install will require administrator user rights, subsequent installs can be done for other users, there will be warnings for security at install time for non-admin users, however it will install and can be used by all users on your systems.

A Shortcut will be created in your Start Menu Programs for this application called ULRTCS, Add Remove programs will remove this application. Which stands for "Universal Language Real-Time Chat Speaker".

The Goal of release one for the Application was bug free functionality of the items listed below:

Language Barriers Fracture On-Line Communities

As large as the International Skype community is, there are major language barriers which restrict the community as a whole to be able to make new contacts on an International level. While On-Line translation is today "Far from perfect" it does provide a bridge to Skype users WorldWide to create many more International contacts.

As a secondary bonus to the Skype community, this application also can help Skype users learn to read, write and properly speak new languages, at their own pace, while they are meeting and enjoying these new Skype contacts from afar.

Being able to hear the words of a new language as you interact with your new Skype contacts gives Skype users the unique ability to be learning word pronunciation at the same time they are learning to write and read a new language because of the speaking ability of this application.

If a Skype user chooses too, they can even have the application translation window, side by side the actual Skype chat. As they become more proficient at any given language, they can use both the application translation window and the actual Skype Chat window simultaneously to enter the words they now know of the language in question into the actual Skype chat window, and ones they may not know yet, into the application translation window.

Because the application has the ability to speak both sent and received translated Skype chat text, Skype users can even hear what their sent chat text sounds like in the language being translated as Skype users send their Skype chat messages.

This is a first attempt at providing methods to expand the International contacts for all Skype users WorldWide.

Many more languages will be supported in the future.

This application not only allows Skype users Worldwide to communicate without the need to have any language skills of the Skype users they are communicating with, but to also learn at their own pace, new languages.

This should NOT be confused with a one to one translation. While of course it supports Skype non Mutli-Chats, it can also be used for very large groups of Skype users, all in the same Multi-Chat, each using a different native language, all at the same time, yet communicating as if any language barrier was non-existent.

Many people using their own native languages can now be in the same Skype Mutli-Chat. If for example the output language for all Skype users in this muti-chat was English, there would be no need for Skype users who read English to use the application to participate in the Skype Multi-Chat, they would simply see the English text produced and desposited in the Muti-Chat by the Skype users using the application.

In fact Skype users in the chat might not even realize that any Skype user in the chat was using the application for translation.

It is now possible that Skype users using their own native language of Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish to be in the same Skype muti-chat and using a common base output language, all communicating with one another and understanding each other. Yet those same people might not be able to communicate had they all met on the corner of some street.

Because of the Speaking ability of the application, Skype users will not only be able to instantly communicate with other Skype users on a WorldWide basis, while learning to read and write a new language, they will be learning to pronounce the words in these new languages, correctly at the same time, if they choose.

This application uses the "Double Translation" method which is important. "Double Translation" means your translated text is re-translated back to your original language from the translated text, so that you can see if your translated text was translated correctly or at least close to what you meant. "Double Translation" offers the highest accuracy rate possible by going the extra step of re-translating what your original language text translated too, and translating that translated text back to the original language.

You will notice that your entered text, in some cases, may be returned not being exactly what you typed. This is because your text is re-translated to show you what your inital text was translated too.

This helps increase your accuracy and allows you to pick better words and phrases that translate to the language in question at a higher accuracy rate over time, it teaches you what words and phrases translate more clearly in specific language pairs.

All Skype user settings are stored and saved so that they are remembered when the application is restarted.

Make no mistake, the translation this application provides, is not perfect, but according to others, this is as close as we are to the infamous "Universal Translator" from Star Trek and the original prototype is even listed, at the bottom of the page for the Wiki definition of "Universal Translator" based on a PoC "Proof of Concept" version I initially designed using a web page and Internet Explorer Click Here for PoC, for Skype chats:

People want choices when they are busy or need to take a break but still remain near their computers

While at first the ability to speak chats not using the translation function, just for speaking your Skype chats may seem like a vanity application.

However, when you think about how busy people get, at and near their computer, why should a Skype user not be able to run Skype 24/7 and as long as they are within hearing distance of their computer, be able to hear chat messages spoken as they arrive? Why should they use OTHER services that don't offer a "Hands Off" ability to know what a messages says and contains, who sent it, and from what chat?

Think of this feature of the application as a Skype Chat Answering Machine. Yet another reason to keep Skype active in your home and workplace, or any location you find yourself. On the Help Tab of the application, there is a button to use the new Silent Mode feature as well. So if a Skype user wishes to disable the Skype client GUI, they can still hear all chat messages.

The Application will NOT speak messages you send to a Chat until someone receives it. This is by design.

So, this means, you could have sent a Skype chat message to someone who was not On-Line, one hour ago, and you won't hear the message you sent spoken, until that person is On-Line and has actually opened the chat window of the chat, your message was sent to.

Now as a few examples, you can be making dinner, or working on a document on your computer that needs to be finished now, or reading your email. When you hear that chat message you sent, some time ago spoken, you now know that it has been delivered, opened and read.

When you are very busy, say working on a document, and you have many Skype chats minimzed to the toolbar, which may have been opened during the long course of your day, and suddenly the toolbar starts to flash, is it not a sigh of relief to be able to hear the message spoken, and then decide, if that message is important enough to respond to "At the Given Moment"? Can you wait to respond? Is it important?

Now, without a single keystroke, you can tell what chat the message was sent to, who sent it, and what it contains, because all of that is spoken to you, without any need for human intervention. You can even decide which chat messages are spoken, from what chat. Maybe you have 4-6 Skype chats opened currently, but are so busy, you really only want to be informed about 2 of them. So, you select only those chats to speak the messages you receive. Of course, you can also have all current Skype open chats as well as any new chats spoken as well.

This feature lends itself to people who cannot always be bothered by wondering while 10 feet away, or in their computer chair working on an important document, which one of the 4+ chats they have opened and minimzed to the toolbar is causing their toolbar to flash.

So, we have SMS and Answering machines in our lives to deliver messages, now we have spoken Skype Chat messsages as well. Not just for English speaking people but for 11 different languages.

Much like both of the others, no action or reponse is needed, if it is the wrong moment, continue doing what you are doing, but if it's important, now you can deal with those important messages as well.

Sent Skype messages to others not yet delivered will also not be spoken until received and read as well. Want to know when someone is On-Line, send them a chat message and wait for it to be spoken.

As long as you are within hearing distance of your computer, you can now know exactly what Skype chat a message arrived from, what Skype contact sent the message, and also hear the text of the Skype chat message spoken.

Skype chat messsages can be spoken using any of these languages: English, British ("Accent"), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Even kids can have fun using the Application

There are a multitude of funny voices young people can use, robotic sounding voices, voices with echos, each voice can be customized and tuned to speak at specific speeds, voice volume can be adjusted as well as pitch.

Young people can actually create thier own custom voices to hear their Skype chat messages spoken by using the customizing voice controls.

You can even make one voice for another langauge speak the wrong language and get some very interesting voice output, imagine a voice designed to speak Japanese, speaking French, it can be done.

"Larry, you should have heard, every Skype chat message you sent me last night, I had spoken to me, like you were a robot, hahahaha".

"Last Night, I sent Mary a Skype chat message in Spanish, asking her if it was raining, now we use the Plugin to chat to each other in other languages, it's like our secret code. We know Spanish now too!"
